Rapper Magic Mike killed in March Car Accident
Car accidents can happen to anyone, even pedestrians near a vehicle, and celebrities. Accidents happen when people least expect and can be financially costly both to the victim and to the damaged property. Sometimes, they leave people without loved ones. On Friday, No Limit rapper Mr. Magic died in a serious car accident in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
According to the Times-Picayune on Friday, Magic (born Awood Johnson) and his wife were killed in the car wreck but their daughter managed to survive. The rapper died at the age of 37-years-old. Many fans and friends of the rapper expressed their condolences publicly and online. Silkk The Shocker, who was part of the No Limit roster with Magic, stated the following via Twitter, “Prayers goes to the Family and Friends of Mr. Magic. him and Wife died in a car accident last night.” Rapper Mystikal also shared his condolences via Twitter, “RIP TO MY BROTHER. MR MAGIC & HIS WIFE! GOD BLESS THEIR FAMILIES” and producer Mannie Fresh joined into the Twitter conversation, “R.I.P. MR MAGIC Please keep his family, friends in ur prayers #GreatDude #9thWard.”
Magic Mike’s debut came in 1998 with the Sky’s the Limit album. It reached number 15 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. He was also featured on other songs and records with other No Limit artists like Master P, Mystikal and Fiend. Magic Mike was active in the rap business; his latest singles were released on his own Banx Entertainment label.
-He was a passionate guy. He loved his siblings; he loved his wife. There’s a comfort in knowing that neither of them has to live without the other. That makes it more bearable,” Magic’s sister Timisha Brooks told the Times Picayune. His daughter will be left alone, however.
Authorities will continue to investigate the death of the New Orleans native to help determine the cause of the accident. Often these studies can help authorities understand if the crash was attributed to health issues or if the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
It has not been made public as to what will happen to the daughter of the rapper and who will take care of her. Once the investigation is made and the legalities of the situation are figured out reporters will help make public the situation of the young girl.
